In 2017, Gordon began the Complicate the World Collective, a theatre group dedicated to the exploration, deconstruction, and reconstruction of identity. Gordon works with other creators to devise works through Grotowski and Bogart-inspired movement and performance.

At the Women’s March Reunion in 2018, Complicate the World Collective had the great privilege of devising a piece that evoked images of Rosie the Riveter in the fight for solidarity among women to stand up for their autonomy, independence, power, and strength.
